HOLY SCRIPTURES We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, the infallible rule of conduct; that it was written by holy men of God as the Holy Spirit moved them. References: 2 Peter 1:19,21; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Timothy 2:15; 1 Peter 2:2 THE GODHEAD We believe that there is one true living God: that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, equal in attributes, but executing distinct offices harmoniously. Reference: Matthew 28:19-20 THE TRINITY God the Father, the Creator of heaven and earth, and all that is therein, sent His only Son to redeem and reconcile the world to Himself. Jesus Christ, the only Son, born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit, became flesh and dwelt among us, the only mediator between God and man. Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost), the third person of the Trinity, fulfilling on earth the office of reprover of sin, righteousness, and judgment; the comforter, leader, and guide to all who yield themselves to His ministrations. References: Genesis 1:1; John 1:29-31; 2 Timothy 2:5; Luke 1:35; Matthew 1:23; John 15:26; John 16:7-11, 1-14 THE SABBATH We believe in the 7th day Sabbath as instituted by God the Father in the Garden of Eden, and as found in the 4th Commandment. References: Genesis 2:2; Exodus 20:8-11; Hebrews 4:9-10 THE FALL OF MAN We believe that man was created in the image of God, but by voluntary transgressions, fell from Edenic holiness and purity, and his only hope of redemption is through Jesus Christ, the Son of God. References: Genesis 1:26-28, 3:1-7; Romans 3:23-24 PLAN OF REDEMPTION We believe that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us; that His death was by divine appointment of the Father as atonement for sin; that upon simple faith and acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ, all who call upon Him may be justified by faith through His precious blood; that salvation is through grace and not by any merits of our own. References: 1 Peter 1:18-20; Titus 2:14; John 1:29; Romans 6:23, 3:23, 5:6-10 |
THE NEW BIRTH We believe in the new birth as a definite experience of salvation and conversion from a life of sin to a life of righteousness and true holiness by Christ Jesus, the Redeemer of all mankind. References: 2 Corinthians 5:17; John 3:3; Ephesians 2:19-21; 1 Peter 1:22-23 DAILY CHRISTIAN LIVING We believe that having been cleansed from our sins by the precious blood of Jesus, we should desire the sincere milk of the Word that we might grow thereby, walking humbly in faith and love, and seeking the hidden life that will truly reflect the Christ within us. References: 2 Timothy 2:15; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; 1 John 1:6-7; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Romans 8:5; Isaiah 35:8-10. WATER BAPTISM We believe that water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, is a command of our Lord; that it is an outward sign of an inward work; that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we should walk in newness of life. References: Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 6:4; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:41 THE LORD'S SUPPER We believe the Lord's Supper is a memorial of His suffering and death. The broken bread used in its commemoration is a type of bread, which came down from heaven, even Jesus Christ, whose body was broken for us; the wine, to remind us of the shed blood of the Savior, the Lamb of God. The ordinance spans the years from Calvary to the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and is enjoined upon every believer. References: Mark 14:22-24; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30 THE GIFTS AND FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT We believe the Holy Spirit has definite spiritual gifts to bestow upon the believing church of Jesus Christ. These gifts are divided unto every man as the Holy Spirit wills, and should be desired by every believer, in the order and proportion whereby they will best edify and benefit the church. References: 1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Romans 12:6-8; Ephesians 4:11-13; Galatians 5:22-23 |
SANCTIFICATION We believe the scriptures teach a life of holiness, without which no man shall see God. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we are able to obey the command, "be ye holy, for I am holy." Entire sanctification is the will of God for every believer and the process of a lifetime, and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God's word. References: Hebrews 12:14; Peter 1:11-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24; 1 John 2:6 DIVINE HEALING We believe that the atonement provides deliverance for sickness, and is the privilege of the believers. References: James 5:14-16; Exodus 15:26; Isaiah 53:4-5 THE SECOND COMING We believe in the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ, and the translation of those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord, as imminent and the blessed hope of the church. We believe in the destruction of the wicked after the millennium in the lake of fire; their reward is eternal damnation; eternal separation from the Father. References: John 6:40; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; Titus 2:13; Revelations 20:1-3, 20:7-15 HEAVEN We believe that heaven is a place prepared for all those that believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ, and having washed their robes made them white in the blood of the lamb. This free gift is everlasting life and joy in the presence of the Lord. References: John 14:2-3; Revelation 21:1-4, 22:1-5 MINISTRY AND EVANGELISM We believe in a ministry divinely called by our Lord that ministers to the whole person for the express purpose of soul-winning and carrying the Everlasting Gospel to the whole world. References: Matthew 25:31-40; Acts 2:47; Matthew 28:16-20 CHURCH RELATIONSHIPS We believe that the church is the body of Christ, and that every believer born of the Spirit is a member of that body whose names are written in Heaven; that it is the duty of every believer to identify himself or herself with a church upon earth, which is a company of believers associated together for the salvation of souls, and endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
